Obituary of Emma Hans

EMMA P. HANS CLINTON, IA - Emma P. Hans, 100, formerly of Sterling, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Mercy Living Center North in Clinton, IA. Emma was born May 31, 1911 in Sterling, the daughter of Albert and Mathilda (Pirck) Giese. She married George Hans on February 10, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1958. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Jordan. Survivors include one sister-in-law, Mae Giese, of New Jersey; four nieces; four nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by four sisters; and five brothers. Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Jordan with Reverend Kathleen Burkheimer, officiating. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30-2:30 pm, Saturday, prior to services at the church. A memorial has been established First Evangelical Lutheran Church of West Jordan.
