I am sorry to read about Sonny. My Dad was Fay Maloney and I worked at the Farmers Elevator a couple summers when I was going to college. My Dad respected Sonny so much and he depended on him every day. Sonny was a hard worker and set a good example. I also remember his humor! I am glad I knew him.

We are so very saddened by Sonny's passing. He had such a great heart and wonderful sense of humor. He leaves a big empty space in our hearts. We will miss him alot. Our condolences to the entire Dittmar family.

To the entire Dittmar extended family. My heart is breaking with yours today. I am so so so sorry for your loss. My heart and mind is filled with the memories of such a wonderful childhood on our little dead end street, our two houses next to each other. It was a different time and we roamed freely for hours on end. Sometimes all of us outside in the dark playing kick the can or some other game. I have few memories from very young, but I remember clearly being with Faith and Sonny every morning before afternoon kindergarten. Every day at noon Sonny coming home in the big truck for lunch. Kris and I never seemed to stay in one place for long. Days and days full of hours and hours of running back and forth from each house to the other. Upstairs, downstairs, outside, over across the tracks to the tot lot, then back inside. Some days it sort of felt like our homes connected. They are precious memories of what I consider a pretty perfect childhood - and Sonny was part of that. Sonny's personality was larger than life. I always felt SO blessed to share his birthday, sort of a special bond we shared. I am so glad that there was opportunity to keep in touch over the years when thanks to Bob and Jodie, my nieces and nephews were Faith and Sonny's grandchildren. I still know the phone number by memory and I will miss hearing Sonny greet me with with his jovial greeting. I am sure so many will voice the same kind of sentiments. I am praying for some comfort for all of you during this very difficult time. Many hugs and love to you all!
