Well this is a tough one. My deepest sympathies to Derek's entire family. Thank you Sally for taking such good care of our dear friend. He absolutely adored you, but you know that. Bill and I have lost one of our oldest, dearest friends. So many good memories we will have forever. Gone, but never forgotten, and always loved! Derek was the kind of person who made the world go round. We'll see you on the other side Hunter!

Dear Sally and Friends. We miss you so much Derek. I will always love and miss you and your infectious laugh and beautiful smile. You are a true friend that I am proud to say that I knew for almost 50 years and having friends for that length of time is a beautiful thing. I know we will see you in Heaven Derek. Say hi to all our friends and family that are with you. I remember every time I would go see Derek and Sally, I would knock on their door, turn my back and Derek always knew it was me and we would crack up with joy at our childlike behavior and I couldn't wait to hear his incredible laugh. Rena, my lady was so happy for the chance to hang out with you Derek and Sally. Our mutual friend Gloria remembers what a sweet man he was with the greatest sense of humor. Derek, the Doctor, was the DJ for my Big 40 and what a great fun-filled birthday. Thank you Derek!
Our hearts and prayers go out to Sally and to all those who miss and love Derek.

I am so sorry for Sally. Derek was a great guy. I met him in 1969. He was a great dude and we hung out alot. I posted some pics I took over the years. We went on a few canoe trips together to Canada and Minnesota. The pic with 3 guys on a snowy view was a trip we took to the Grand Canyon. I am the only one left from that trip. Bob, Jim, and Derek are in Heaven now. I love and miss you Derek.

Derek the Doctor! He was a great guy. I got to know him when I waited on him at McCaslin's years ago. He always had a smile on his face. 25 years ago my husband and I were married and we were lucky to have him as our DJ. We really appreciated it because our reception was in the Quad Cities and he drove there for us. He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew him. Marcia Dengler

Sally, I m so sorry for your loss. He was a inspiration to many. He inspired my life with music., laughter and many great memories during my teenage years. We shared many holidays and birthday. Derek promised me as a 12 year old paper girl he would DJ my wedding, he kept his promise!!! He was my favorite house to deliver the paper to as here was always music and a big smile!!!!

I delivered Dereks newspaper everyday as a 12 year old. He was my favorite house as there was always music playing and he was always so happy!! I always told him I wanted him to DJ my wedding, he said he would. He stuck to that promise!! When I was 20 he DJd my wedding and shared a dance with me. He was a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. I’m sure there is music playing everywhere in Heaven. Rest easy, Derek. Thank you for making my paper route fun everyday, Much love. Sally, so sorry to hear about the passing of Derek.
He was a good friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him and the life of every party.
Thinking about our Special Olympic basketball teams and state championship, client trips to Great America, Explorers concert downtown and just the fun we had every day at work.
Derek was the best DJ I ever saw and helped make my daughters wedding a blast.
