I will miss my Aunt Irene. I have not been lucky enough to be in her presence much in my adult years, but I have so many memories of her when I was growing up. My two sisters and my mom visited Aunt Irene and my cousins many, many times when I was little - it was the highlight of the week. We kids ran around their house in Sterling, probably way too noisy and full of energy, but Aunt Irene and my mom sat at the kitchen table and just talked. I can't remember ever being told to be quiet or settle down. Aunt Irene was such a gentle person, someone that all of us loved to be around. Her smile, her humor, her calmness will be long remembered, and will bring a smile to my face each time the memories linger. Mark Ahrens
