STERLING-Gail Ann Stough (Denning),66, of Sterling died Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at her home. She was born August 12, 1954 in Whiteside County, daughter of Howard Denning (1916-1977) and Vivian McCann (1923-2005). She married Dr. Donald Rice, D.C in 1973, divorced in 1975.
Gail went to Rock Falls High School, but later in life received her GED. She attended Colorado Technical College, and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree, in Criminal Justice.
Gail is survived by her children: Donald Rice Jr, of Waterloo, IA, Heather Parsley (Tom Parsley), of Boise, ID and Curtis Elgin (Sheri Elgin) of Mill Creek, WA; Grandchildren Dylan Rice of Glennville, GA, Noah Rice, Riana Rice, Cierra Rice, and Harlow Rice of Des Moines, IA; Skye Parsley and Thryn Parsley of Boise, ID; Alexander Elgin and Korbyn Elgin of Mill Creek, WA. She is survived by: three brothers, Howard "Butch" (Rosemary) Denning Jr, of Boones, IA, Larry Denning and Neal “Rabbit” Denning of Sioux City, SD; one sister, Peggy (Allen) Richards of IN. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, Howard and Vivian (McCann) Denning and sisters Lorraine Sears and Diane Denning.
A celebration of life and interment will be scheduled at a later date. A memorial has been established and may be sent to Schilling Funeral Home P.O. Box 592 Sterling IL 61081, and will be forwarded to family.
