Dr. Glenda Bruins posted a condolence
Wednesday, May 26, 2021
Sincere condolences to the family- Bonnie was my maid of honor in 1969, and we lived across the hall in Alma Johnson’s apartment building on Crawford Avenue in Dixon in 67-68. Bonnie, Sherry McDowell and I were best friends and enjoyed many adventures together. In 1968 we all went Trick or Treating together and that evening, I met my future husband. Bonnie always had that special smile and a big heart.
We were both jewelry and clothes conscience happy go lucky gals in the 60’s! She loved her job at Penny’s and always walked to work, no matter the weather. I’d offer her a ride, but no, she preferred walking- I was opposite, and she didn’t like me blasting my Ah-ooo-Ga horn as I went past Penny’s.! She made a beautiful Wedding cake for us that January. Seems like yesterday. She will be missed and I cherish the memories we shared.
