I was so happy to have Gale (and Harry) as my Tucson friend and neighbor. Even though we talked often, I didn't know about all those cat lives! She told me about some of them (the bike & the gravel truck) and laughed off every one of them with her gentle sense of humor and wonder. One day I was looking at her book shelf and realized we both read similar books. She had all the Anne McCaffrey books which explained the dragon and wizard figurines she collected. She loved the Into the Wilderness series and read it several times -- Gale believed in true love. So when I read that she used to escape the dishes by reading in the bathroom, I thought of myself using a flashlight to read my Nancy Drew books under the covers. We connected so well because we were kindred spirits. She was so proud of you guys -- the whole family. She used to buy cards in bulk in order to send her birthday greetings. All of your photos were on the fridge, and we looked at them frequently. We shared the family news. All of this is to say I miss her. Love to all of you. Maddie
