Obituary of Carmen Moreno

CARMEN MORENO STERLING-Carmen Moreno, 101, of Sterling, died Thursday, July 14, 2022 at home. Carmen was born January 20, 1921 in Sterling, the daughter of Harry L. and Ethel Smith She married Herbert Paul Figeley. He preceded her in death in 1945 during WWII. She then married John M. Moreno on September 6, 1946 in Sterling. He preceded her in death in November of 2004. Carmen was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church. She was a WWII Widow and a member of the VFM and Sterling American Legion. Survivors include her daughter, Renee Moreno of Jacksonville, FL and son, John Moreno of Sterling; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one son, Norman Figeley and two sisters, Joyce Dugan and Vera Travis. Funeral Services will be private.
