Obituary of Kathleen Card

KATHLEEN A. CARD STERLING - Kathleen A. Card passed away in her home on Saturday February 16, 2013 after a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Kathy was born April 6, 1959 in Rockford, the daughter of Terry M. and Judith C. Friel. She attended Rockford Public Schools and graduated from East High in 1977. Kathy married Samuel S. Card on December 13, 1991 in Rockford. Kathy most recently worked for First National Bank in Amboy, Dixon South and Dixon North locations. Kathy is survived by her husband; her mother Judi of Rockford; her father-in-law Dick Card of Sterling; two sisters, Kris (Tom) Clark of Rockford, Kari (Neil) Vincer of Roscoe; a brother, Kelly (Holly) Friel of Roscoe; Sister-in-law Sue (Ron) DeJonge of Sterling; Brother-in-law Tom (Vickie) Card of Michigan; Nieces, Jordan Friel, Brianna and Bailey Vincer, Valorie (Chris) Hicks and Shannon DeJonge; Nephews, Josh and Jaryd Magnuson; Sean Friel; Brock Vincer and Richard II (Laurie) Card; Grandmother Hazel Friel of Rockford; Uncles Larry (Jane) Friel of Rockford and Reggie (Sissy) Anderson of Amelia Ohio; numerous cousins including Mark Friel of Rockford. Kathy was predeceased by her father, mother-in-law Janis Card, maternal grandparents, paternal grandfather, and Uncle Donald Anderson. Visitation will be Friday February 22, 2013 from 6-8pm at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. The funeral will be Saturday February 23, 2013 at 11:00am at Schilling Funeral Home.
