Obituary of Nila Harris

  Nila G. Harris, 80, of Sterling died Wednesday November 22, 2023 at Rock Falls Rehabilitation in Rock Falls. Nila was born January 19, 1943 the daughter of William and Louise (Davidson) Harris. She married Robert Harris on November 17, 1960 in Abingdon VA. Robert preceded Nila in death on December 25, 2020.

   Nila volunteered at the Caring Center in Sterling for many years.

   Survivors include one daughter Robin (Jeff) Henard of Morrison; one son Wayne (Melanie) Harris of Sterling; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, her special granddaughter Brianna Tarbill who took care of her for several years. 

   Nila is preceded in death by her parents; husband Robert; one brother Bill; and one daughter Vicky Bamber.

   Cremation rites have been accorded, and there will be a visitation from 5PM-6PM on Monday November 27, 2023 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation.

   A memorial has been established to the Caring Center in Sterling.
