Jon was my lab partner at Whiteside Area Vocational School where we took Vocational Electronics. We would joke around some and one day he thought it would be funny to scare me by 'pretending' to shock me with the high voltage power supply. We were working with the supply at about 500 volts DC. He turned it off then touched the leads to my arm to 'scare' me. Unfortunately he forgot that it takes several seconds for the supply to shut down so I got about a 450 volt 'thrill' on my right forearm. I think I would have given him an 'A' for the idea but a 'C-' on execution. (photo from 1974 Warrior Yearbook)

I have to write this memory of Jon on behalf of all his siblings. When we were little and my parents needed a night out (which with 4 children all close in age, they may have needed many nights out!) They left Jon in charge and he required all of us to sit and watch Star Trek on the TV (basically Jon took over the TV) if anyone complained we got a pounding. So then my brother, sister and I tried to take control and Jon would not have any mutiny on his ship. So he through us all outside and locked the door. We did bang on the door but to no avail we sat on the step until my parents came home. This would start all over the next night out for my parents. Rest in peace dear brother and make sure that channel in heaven is showing Star Trek!

There are 52 years worth of memories. We had a lot of fun together. It has been a blessing to be a part of Deb and your life together, sharing the birth of your daughters and grandchildren. Your entire family, including your parents, siblings, aunts, cousins, etc., became my 2nd family. Remember the simple times together and the many vacations together. There are so many memories of this kind, caring friend. You could not ask for a more loyal giving friend. To my 2nd family, and so much to Deb, Jen, Amy and families, my deepest condolences at your loss. There are enough good memories and laughter to last forever and help keep us smiling.
