Mom, it is August 12, 2019. It has been 6 years since your passing. With everyday, my thoughts turn to you, Dad and Scott. I dearly miss all three of you. I don't feel our family is complete without you, Dad and Scott. I find myself in tears at times thinking about you and our time together. I wish you and Dad were here to visit with us. We would walk the beaches together hand in hand. I truly miss you. Whenever I return to Illinois, Laura and I always drop by to visit with you and Dad. I truly prey you, Dad and Scott found each other. Never forgotten and always loved. I have a picture of you holding Mattie on my desk. I look at it everyday. Your forever loving son, Steve

Mom.......Well some time has passed since we last saw each other. We, as a family have crossed some bridges together that were not expect and now we stand at the precipice of Dads funeral on 8/20/15. We have seen Scott contracct cancer and pass back on 5/7/15. Steve and I are getting pretty good at arranging funerals, but the important part is that you and Dad and Scott are all together now all out of pain and suffering. Dad said that he dreamed of you and Scott and Ruth Ann were at a big party, calling him to come, but he could not come because he had a Doctors appointment to go to, but he is with you now and I am so happy for all of you. Please know that Steve and I are doing fine and that I had another grandson, 7 grandchildren, Emett Christian about a month ago. I think my family is complete now. Mom I love you. Give both of my Dads a hug and a kiss for me.

Mom, it has now been over a year since your passing and I think about you often, sometimes with a sad heart, for I miss you deeply. It is especially difficult around the holidays and I think back about our Christmas and New Years family gatherings, and I smile and cry with tears of joy as I remember you and Dad and all the fun times that God granted us as a family. It sure brings home thoughts and memories of my kids and grand kids. I sure appreciate them just a little bit more, when I think of you. Thanks again for your never ending Love and I will forever Love you and keep smiling. That smile of yours is infectious.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the passing of your loved one. When the enemy death strikes(I Corinthian 15:26) the grief can be devastating to cope with even though you may believe in the resurrection hope, when Jesus promise to raise up those who have fallen asleep in death; restoring them back to life, on the renewed Paradise earth. -John 5:28,29; Luke 23:43. As you await the fulfillment of that hope GOD(Psalms 83:18) offers, you can be among those described in the Bible as “obtaining joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”-Isaiah 35:10. Until your pain and sorrow flees from you, and you are reunited with your loved one; I pray GOD give you peace in your heart and comfort, during this time of sorrow.-Matthew 5:4.

How are you doing today Sunshine ? The first words I would always say to you, when I would call you or come to see you. I will see you again someday and I will once again be able ask you, "Hows my sunshine". Your smile and humor will forever be imprinted in my spirit. Rest with God now, for your work on earth is complete. Be at peace knowing that
As we celebrate your life in the days that follow, we give awesome thanks to God, for your life, your love and your spirit, that all, will forever exist in your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Forever, I love you mom.

Bill, Steve, Gary, Scott, and all the family,
I am sorry I could not be here with you today, but know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Lois was a dear soul, a true Christian woman. I was not blessed to know her in her younger years, so I can't share in the rich and varied memories that you all must have, but I did get to know her heart - her kindness, her gentle nature, and her hospitality. She was always cheerful, even in adversity and pain, and she was such a loving person. Lois loved to tell us, when we came to visit, about her family. She always had pictures to share and stories to tell about her kids and grandkids. When we came, we would always share communion, read scripture, and pray, and we trusted in the promise of Scripture that wherever two or more are gathered, Christ is present. So, while she couldn't come to church in these last few years, she was certainly still worshiping God.
When I think of Lois, I think of Proverbs 31, and these verses:
"A capable wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her lifeStrength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her happy; her husband too, and he praises her: 'Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.'"
I give thanks for the life of Lois Besse, give thanks to God for her time on this earth and all that she meant to those who knew her. Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord, says the Spirit. They rest from their labors, and their works follow them.
