My thoughts are with Smaida's family. I have so many wonderful memories of times at the Bollman home. Smaida was always caring and generous, I am sure I overstayed my welcome on many occasions! Like my siblings, just thinking of Smaida brings so many warm memories to mind.

A wonderful lady. When I was young I asked her to teach me how to make her angel food cake (so very good), she thought it funny that a guy would want to do that, but she taught me. I still make it for my kids. Her smile would light the day. Again, a wonderful lady, I am honored to have known her and her family.

Your mother was a wonderful mentor for all of your family. I am sending hugs, and prayers for peace for all of you.
Pam and Mindy, when you girls were in school, your mom shared her Date-Nut Bread recipe with me, and I will be baking some this weekend in remembrance of her and your wonderful family. Lots of Love!

When I was about 9 or 10 visiting with Aunt Smaida and Uncle Pete at the farm for a few days, I remember horsing around with my cousins Marty and Al doing the normal horse play where we weren't supposed to be playing. I fell on some farm machinary and cut my leg pretty bad. We immediately ran back to the house and calmly Aunt Smaida took a look at the gash in my leg, got a clean wash cloth and calmly said well lets go to the medical center to get that leg stitched up. She calmly took comtrol of the situtation and I never had any feeling of fear when Aunt Smaida was near. After the visit to the medical center and several stitches we arrived back at the farm where she told us to stay away from the machinary and go play. Just like nothing had happened the boys were out playing again!

Aunt Smaida was always there with a smile on her face when I came to visit. I treasured the times we had at the farm growing up and sharing those moments with my cousins; Marty, Pam, Al and Mindy and my Aunt Smaida and Uncle Pete. Aunt Smaida was the strongest woman I have ever met and she always gave her family and friends love and joy! My heart goes out to the family in this time of loss and suffering, but I have comfort in my heart knowing that Aunt Smaida is now with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and is free from her pain and suffering. God has blessed me with having such a special Aunt and her family in my life. May God continue to bless this family!
