My sympathy goes out to you Ida and your entire family including Don, whom I went to grade school and high school with. We were the only 2 students in our grade at Union School. I know how hard it is losing a spouse as I lost mine recently. Jim was such a caring person. I remember when he so willingly drove the tractor for a hayride that my sister and I had. Wendy from Colorado.

My condolences to Ida and all the children. I have many fond memories of Jim growing up in Milledgeville. I especially enjoyed his laugh. You have many memories over the years that will help you during this difficult time. My prayers are with you. Nancy

To Marsha, Ida and the family. I wanted to say that I am sorry I wont be here on Monday to celebrate Jim's life with you and tell you this story personally. Since Marsha and I were in Sunday School and Confirmation together, I had the opportunity to meet Jim and Ida as a child, and throughout my entire lifetime, I have had the honor of seeing this wonderful example of a Christian Man, but not only that but a Husband to a wonderful Wife and example to all of us of what a Christian Husband should be. A father who adored his children and grandchildren, but also showed his love for all children as he attended every children's event at church was always interested in our children and made a point to speak with our children and let them know he was a loving and caring part of their church family. One of my best church memories of Jim is that he would always reach out his hand to shake mine as I would walk by after taking communion, he was always smiling, even though as he got older I know many days he was in pain.
We will all miss Jim, but he will be waiting for us in Heaven where he will be there with a hand shake as I walk by.
God Bless you all and Give you His Peace

I became the science teacher at Milledgeville, Il. High School in Sept. 1949. I played my marimba at many local banquets & Meetings. At one of these, I met a very good singer who also had appeared on the program. This was Jim. Our friendship grew from then on up to this day. Our families have kept up with each other, and they were invited to our 50th wedding anniversary in 1999. After my retirement back to Varna, Ill. in 1989, we spent many enjoyable hours playing cards at each other's homes. Our thoughts and condolences are with Ida and the family. Regards, Bill
