Our foursome will miss the man with the "Golden Putter" at the Schreiner and Dixon FD golf outings. We could always count on Tony to read our misses and put it in the cup!! Watching Tony guide Har to te best fishing spots during the Rock Falls Fire Department catfish tournament pricelss. As soon as we heard the cork pop out of the bottle of champagne we knew they found the fish. (Well at least one!!) You will be missed my friend! My sincere sympathy to Tonys family as I mourn the loss of his life here on earth. I have known Tony for years as we played softball together for many seasons and then kept in touch through golf tournaments we both were at. I truly enjoyed every moment we got to see each other and will truly miss those times and his laughter as soon as he seen me. I lost a true friend and could be more sad in learning of his death.

Nearly forty years have passed since Elmhurst College, too many years since last seeing Tony. We all move in many directions as our lives progress, yet in the end we all come home. I've known Tony for a while now. He treated my family like his own. Foster my oldest son loved going over to Moonlight Bay just to sit and chat and hangout with him. Years ago, I met Tony while working at Angelo's about 8 years ago. Tony tried so many times to convince me to come work at Moonlight Bay (I finally did). Sitting outside talking, I always got the best advice from Tony. Not only that, I was able to hear all of the stories he had, and man did he have some stories! There are so many things I can say about this great man. The very best I have is that I know he will still be sitting outside of Moonlight Bay waiting for me to come to work. My son said, "Mom, I saw him sitting out there yesterday when I went to feed the birds." There is not a single part of me that thinks that is untrue. He will be there to watch over us all, and probably laugh at us too.

Pulling up to moonlight bay will never be the same. Every summer we spend a lot of time at the bay enjoying the river on my in-laws boat (butch and Kim). Tony was either on that big tractor pulling boats in and out of the water or enjoying the weather sitting outside talking to his many friends on the front porch. Every time he would greet me with a smile and big hug. He had such a way of making everyone at the bay feel like family. He was always laughing, smiling, and being sarcastic especially with Butch. They would always team up to tease me and of course my mom who was always late. Unfortunately tony, just like my mom was taken from us WAY too soon. One thing I know is that my mom would have been so deeply saddened to hear of the loss of a great man. I know in my heart that she will be greeting him with open arms and an ice cold beverage. He will always be around us in spirit and will be so greatly missed. My heart breaks for Harlene and the rest of his family. My deepest condolences go out to all who loved him. He was a great guy and will be missed so much. Moonlight bay will not be the same without him, but it has an angel now.
