Obituary of Charles Zimmerman

Charles Everett Zimmerman, 93, of Sterling, died Friday, April 11, 2014 at Coventry Living Center. He was employed by the United States Post Office as a mail carrier. Charles was born April 23, 1920 in Princeton, IL, the son of Carl and Estella (Powers) Zimmerman. He served in the Unites States Army in Normandy during WWII. He married Mary Rambo on December 1, 1943 in Olympia, WA. She preceded him in death on February 14, 2005. Charles was a member of Berean Baptist Church, RockFalls. Survivors include one daughter, Karen (Mike) Maguire of Pleasenton, CA; two sons, David (Donna) Zimmerman of Coleta and Kenneth (Candy) Zimmerman of Lake Stevens, WA; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2014 , at Berean Baptist Church, Rock Falls with Roger Carlson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton.
