Thank you John for the memories. I remembered riding the bus to work. John would drive the bus. I told everybody that The Boss was driving. He laughed. I took it hard. Thanks to Anna Islas for informing me. I'm going to miss your smile and your hugs. John was like a Father to us. I want to let Barbara know that God will comfort you during these difficult times. I may be sad. Now I know my Boss is watching each and everyone at Self Help. John wants us to be Strong for him. He was a Hero in our lives. I'm not going to forget about him. I will miss you John. From the day I began working with you @ Self Help Enterprises, you embraced me as a member of your family. You never once falterd on that relationship. Through the years we worked together, ate lunch together and prayed together. We became very close in our trust of one anouther and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. You watched and guided as I grew from a young man begining a life with a family to a grown man dealing with growing children and a professional career.

Sunday Night's phone call inundated memories over our four decades together. Words seem like a thimble in the ocean.
John was a boy who grew into a man with a zest for life and a love of adventure. He was a pied piper who brought us all along to share in the adventures. John had qualities of dynamism and excitement; and, at the same time, touching your heart. There was a greatness in him; a role model and hero he will always be. John was known by everyone he encountered; and always had that special twinkling in his eyes.
John will live forever in our memories and our beguiled and broken hearts.

I worked at Sterling Eagle and Mr. Stern was a regular shopper. I have never met a person so full of life as he was. I remember wishing I could be like that. He was one of a kind and will be missed by anyone whose life crossed paths with his. With deepest sympathy, Karen Rose-Spencer.
