Obituary of Robert Thurber

STERLING- Robert James Thurber, 81, of Sterling, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at CGH Medical Center. He was employed as Director of Sales at Wahl Clipper until his retirement in 1995 Mr. Thurber was born June 28, 1933 in Adams Friendship, WI. He served in the United States Army. Robert married Marie Mura in June of 1961 in Los Angeles, CA. Survivors include his wife, Marie; one daughter, Julie (Tom) Diedenhofen, of Bartlett; one son, Robert (Debbie) Thurber, of Lindenhurst; one sister, Nea (Richard) Senatore, of Sarasota; two brothers, Jack (Sylvia) Thurber, of Reedsburg, WI, and Harold (Gerrie) Thurber, of Kenosha, WI; and three grandchildren, Ellie Thurber, and Ronin and Bonnie Diedenhofen. He was preceded in death by one brother, James Thurber. Visitation will be held Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 2pm to 4pm at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling. Funeral service will be Monday, July 7, 2014 at 10am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Sterling. Burial will follow the funeral at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Sterling. A memorial has been established.
