Obituary of Marcie Leonard

STERLING- Marcie L. Leonard, 95, of Sterling, died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Good Samaritan Prophets Riverview. Marcie was born on March 27, 1919 in Marion County MO, the daughter of Birdette (Young) and Nellie Gabe Wood Simmons. She married Clare "Pete" Leonard on November 8, 1941 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1994. Marcie was a lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Falls. Survivors include one daughter, Linda (Gary) Weakley of Morrison; one son, David (Pat) Leonard, of Sterling; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; three sisters; and four brothers. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls with Reverend Henrietta Milner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be held at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 4 - 6 PM at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling. A memorial has been established.
