Obituary of Doris Moore

DORIS MOORE STERLING- Doris Moore, 97, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Sterling Pavilion. Mrs. Moore was a teacher at Sterling High School from 1939 to 1972. Doris Moore was born March 3, 1911 in Morrison, the daughter of Walter E. and Lena Burritt. She married Hayden M. Moore on November 21, 1976. He preceded her in death on July 9, 1987. Mrs. Moore was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sterling. She was also a member of the D.A.R. Mrs. Moore liked to travel. She is survived by one step-daughter, Judith Moore of Sterling; two step-sons, Evan M. (Susan) Moore and John H. Moore both of Sterling; and one step-grandson, Justin Moore of Shannon. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Frances Burritt. Funeral services will be 11 AM, Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Schilling Funeral Home, with Reverend James Camps, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at the Schilling Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.
