I like to share a word or two about uncle Richard. First it seems that you really don't know some one until the later years. Richard came to Canada a few years and stayed with us for the summer month or till it got cold. He liked it hot. Richard would stop and talk to anyone, anywhere, anytime, so a lot of the repeat guest and staff got to know him well. He was never late for a meal and always eat the deserts and once in a while ask for a second piece, with a smile, to take back to his cabin. He did a lot of work for us here, lots of jobs no one really liked. The staff liked that. There was so many jobs to mention. Gloria really liked that as he was always available his free time he would go back to his cabin sat in a lawn chair and listen to the radio and some time set on the docks trying to catch a fish. Didn't have to much luck but he said he just like to look out., around the water. One time I ask him what he was using for bait and he said nothing, wasn't to sure he wanted to catch one but if one would run into his hook he would reel it in. All the staff remember him well for kind words and willing to help out. Everyone always ask and wondered every year if he was coming back for another summer as he would not say for sure. He will be missed greatly.
