Obituary of Richard Ripley

RICHARD L. "Dick" RIPLEY STERLING- Mr. Richard L. Ripley, 75, died Tuesday morning, September 08, 2009 at his home. Mr. Ripley was an elementary school teacher in Sterling for many years. Dick L. Ripley was born in Aledo on July 8, 1934, the son of Willis and Melinda Sedig Ripley. He married Lois Kilberg on June 16, 1963 in Prophetstown. Richard Ripley served in the U.S. Army. He was an active member of First Congregational Church in Sterling. He is survived by his wife, Lois Ripley; two sons, Scott (Brenda) Ripley of Watseka and Gregg (Heidi) Ripley of Rock Falls; one sister, Sharon Pollack of Mission Hills, CA; and four grandchildren. Memorial services will be 11 AM Friday, Sept. 12, 2009 at the First Congregational Church with church pastor Reverend Jeff Coester officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Thursday evening at Schilling Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to ALS, Heart Fund @ CGH, and First Congregational Church in Sterling.
