Gene was a wonderful neighbor and a good friend and I enjoyed our many talks over the years. My condolences to the family.

Gene was one of the classiest men it has been my privilege to know. He trained me on the railroad, kept me out of a lot of trouble there and, if my youth and ignorance ever bothered him, he never let it show. He was a true gentleman and I am better for having known him. May he rest in peace.

Janel and Carol I would like to send my condolences from my family to your families on the passing of your dad. I will always remember what a nice and kind man he was to all. As I reflect back on the many years that have past since we all were kids back in the neighborhood I can only imagine how crazy the neighborhood gang made him. Yet he was always good to us all. Those are fond memories that we will all carry with us of him. I sorry we could not be there in person but we are in spirit.

Dear Janel and Carol, my thoughts and prayers are with you and both of your dear sweet families as you grieve Uncle Gene's loss. What an incredible legacy he has left us! We know that we don't have to grieve as the world does because of our assurance that we will spend eternity together. I have so many fond memories of the times spent at your home growing up! Uncle Gene was the first with a smile, great story, and his laugh will be with me forever along with his beautiful voice! I'm sorry that I won't be able to be with you as you celebrate Uncle Gene's life. Please know that I'm praying for the peace and comfort that only God can provide to each of you. Love, Teri
