To: Francis Nelson and members of the Nelson Family Arlene and I extend our sincere condolences on the loss of your husband and father, Harold. During this time of grief may the Lord grant you the strength to endure, the wisdom to understand and the peace that comes from knowing Jesus as your personal savior. When Arlene and I first joined Messiah we both commented on the one couple who were very obviously & totally devoted to one another. It turned out to be Harold and Francis. As we got to knw them we found out they were also devoted to Messiah and had a strong belief in Jesus Christ as their personal Savier. Severeal years ago Merssiah began a small group program and Harold and Francis were members of our group along wsith Fred and Helen Block and Ron and Diane Holtz. It was during these Bible studies that our friendship with Harold and Francis grew and flourished. Harold's biblical knowledge was extensive, practical and strong. As his elder for a short period of time I came to realize that Harold had a deep concern for Messiah Lutheran Church and the LCMS in general. This was exmplified by Harold's participation on various church boards, expecially evangelism. Harold and Francis will always have a warm spot in our hearts. During this time of grief there is also joy. The joy comes from knowing that Harold knew Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Jesus is quoted as saying "that whoever believes in me aned is baptized will be saved" (Mark 16:16). May the saving grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ grant you the peace and the joy in knowing that Harold is with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Arlene and Gary Johnson
