Judy and I first met and shared Sunday school classes at the First Christian Church when we were about 5 years old. We also attended junior high and high school together. As a child, she was rather quiet and shy, but always open to everything going on around her and full of mischief. As we grew, Judy was gentle and loving, which are attributes she retained throughout her life. To her family and very close friends, please accept my condolences. She has loved you dearly and with God’s grace will forever.

We first got to know Judy upon moving to Willow Creek Rd. in Sterling. Back in the late 70's and 80's we sometimes got snowed in out here in the country. Judy, Betty & Les Petersen, Pat & Rosalie Shaeffer, Jack and Rita Anning, Gail and Mary Jane Dombrowski & Jerry & Pat Bellini sometimes had "Blizzard Parties" to socialize and pass the time while waiting to get plowed out. While all of our original neighbors have moved on, we're still living here on Willow Creek Road. We'll always remember Judy's corgi dogs, her great sense of humor and what a nice person she was.

Judy was the kind of person you knew would always come through for you, no matter what circumstances came up. In late June she rescued us at O'Hare on a stormy night that forced flight cancellations, and was, as always, the perfect hostess at the drop of a hat. I found myself waking and wondering in the middle of the night why on earth I would have the nerve to ask, let alone expect, her to drop everything to bail us out......but in the end, Judy was about the only person we knew who wouldn't give it a second thought. May God rest her soul and may her service to others be an inspiration to us all.

hoots was my best friend.............probably a lot of us can say that..............she just took such great care of everyone.......and was so giving.....she had so much fun......i got to travel with her, to new mexico, and chicago a lot........and so many little driving side trips, like up to galena, iowa city, dubuque and all around.........i valued her input on so many decisions...she helped with so many of our mother's, when they got 'older'........we called her 'the good sister' when she would visit my mom in bettendorf and take her milkshakes........she could scout out the best, most appropriate funny presents, that were perfect for everyone........and she was soooo artistic, and crafty......i know she is fine.......but all of us will miss her forever...... after i retired and travelled she 'adopted' my cat emerald........emmy was 10 and lived the next 5 years at hooties, where she could roam freely outside and have salmon whenever she like......hoots sure loved animals.......from teddy, kiki, velcro, and nikki, and sooo many others.........let's celebrate her great life. and the joy we had in knowing the nicest, most caring, intelligent person around....... thanks for the memories.........see you later..............b.

I am Ann Hendricks Daniels son Mark, and Judy was always a wonderful sport to participate in any plan I came up with involving my mom and her. Most recently in planning a 70th birthday dinner for my Mom for their Marco Island trip, she was my 'partner in crime' and helped me pull it off! Years before, she also made the trip in to Evanston where she had lived herself and was part of a surprise anniversary party for my parents' 25th anniversary.
Her enthusiasm for living and great sense of humor will be missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

I first met Judy through my relationship with her good friend, Barb Freese. You have heard of one in a million. Well, Hootie, as Judy was known to her friends, was one in a Billion! Friendly, kind, generous, charitable, Hootie spent much of her time helping others. If you had a problem, Hootie would be there to help in whatever way she could. The world was a better place because of her and will miss her greatly!

The six of us "girls" finally got it together and flew off to Marco Island! It was to celebrate the arrival of all of our 70th birthdays. How could that be? We felt like we were teenagers and students of good old SHS!! Judy Moore, Judy Dunker, Kay Benson, Karen Clark, Dianne Graham and I met at the Fort Myers Airport, rented two vehicles and were on our way to our condos. Small detail...it was dark, late, and we were not quite sure where we were going!! We will never tell a few of the details of that drive, but we did make it safely! Our week together was filled with laughter, a few tears, lots of stories, some silliness, lots of shopping, swimming and tanning by the pool, almost finishing a 50's puzzle, playing Judy Dunker's LONG version of gin rummy, and great meals together. The deep friendships that began for some of us in Kindergarten and before, will always remain in our hearts. The loss of Judy will be so hard for all of us, but I have a feeling that Judy would not want us to be sad, but instead reflect on the wonderful, happy times together. Oh....there were SO MANY!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Evan and John, at this very difficult time. I pray you will find peace and healing in the days ahead as you reflect on a lifetime of memories. I have known Judy since junior high school, and have recently relived many shared experiences with her on a trip together to Florida in Nov. of 2009. How memorable that event will become for me, as I remember Judy's life. She had a kind and gentle spirit that made everyone feel loved. I will miss her. Judy Wyatt Dunker
