Obituary of Richard Hammer

RICHARD P. HAMMER STERLING - Richard P. Hammer, 67, formerly of Rockford, died Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Coventry Living Center. He had been a line operator at Edelmanns before he retired. Richard was born February 14, 1943 in Sterling, the son of Grant and Erna (Boysen) Hammer. Survivors include one sister, Lorraine (James) Lowe, of Lena; one brother, Gerald (Luetta) Hammer, of Annawan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Caroline Coan. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Schilling Funeral Home with Reverend Leo Patterson, of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM, Saturday at the Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Foundation.
