When my Grandfather Cruz was married to Marian they would take us kids to Prophetstown to visit her parents for the 4th of July. They had spectacular fireworks on the river. Her parents were always so kind and I remember her Dad had a wonderful Indian head piece all of us kids were in awe over.
Marian always wore the coolest, biggest rings. Whether playing piano or not, I remember her hands and those fingers.
I remember the blue house on 4th street and visiting her and my Grandfather there.
My Mom (Pat) just told me last week that Marian was with her when she gave birth to me some 49.9 years ago. It was nice to be reminded of that. :)

My prayers go out to her family for the loss of Marian. I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing. She was a WONDERFUL woman and Grandmother to me and my siblings, Grandchildren of Cruz Sierra. I just received the news of her passing today and I am mourning her passing. She was a beautiful woman, with a beautiful smile. My memories will live on.

Dear family of Marian's Please accept my condolences on the death of Marian. I knew her as a fellow musician and lover of jazz and the old swing music of the past. I loved hearing her play and often asked her what she'd like to hear when I played for chapel on the Terrace at Pinecrest. My mother was a resident there too. But I understand the pain of Alzheimer's She's in a better place now, I believe, and free to sing and play her music in some way. God bless you all. I'm sending a donation towards her memorial.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. May that loss be lightened by the music that Ms. Thomas enjoyed for so many years. My parents, Raymond and Janna Lee Kulas, enjoyed listening and especially dancing to her music. I hear that they traveled all over the area to dance to Ms. Thomas and whatever group that she played with at the time. Dad is a bit tired tonight or he would have liked to come to exchange memories. Our Condolences to you.
