Rest in peace John. Although I ve been gone from this area for decades I was fortunate to encounter John a few years after moving back here a few years ago. We sat out on his front steps on 6 th ave and had a nice talk. I'm probably not the only guy of our generation who looked up to John. He was a true free thinking , thought provoking, many sided dude. A rebel in all the good sense of the word. God bless you John. The long shoulder length hair. The cpo jacket you wore before most of us did. that searching, inquisitive , truth challenging nature you reeked on your sterling teachers. Larry caudillo

Last time I was with my Uncle John, was in Sterling, Illinois just a couple of yrs ago. For two hours I was able to share Jesus Christ with Him, He was very touched. A few days later we met again, He asked my wife and I to Pray for Him. We Prayed that day and the presence of God was with us, when I said Amen, I looked at my Uncle and He was in tears. He looked at me and said "Mijo, you touched me, I felt something". Who touched Him that day was God Our Heavenly Father, who was drawing Him into the loving Arms, of our savior Jesus Christ, My Uncle holds a special place in my heart, and always will. I believe, that in the last moments of His life here on earth, that he called out to Jesus Christ and was ushered Home to Heaven. John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
