Obituary of Odela Shank

ODELA ELIZABETH SHANK GOSHEN, IN - Odela Elizabeth Shank, 89, formerly of Dixon, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen, IN. Odela was born December 30, 1922 in Hopedale, the daughter of Lawrence and Sarah (Birkey) Sutter. She married Raymond L. Shank on June 16, 1946 in Clarksville, MI. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1998. Odela was a longtime member of Science Ridge Mennonite Church in Sterling. Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine (Lee) Borntrager, of Goshen, IN, and Wanda (Jan-Gerrit) Bouwman, of Woodridge; two sons, Galen (Terry) Shank, of Sterling, and Leon (Karen) Shank, of Dixon; one daughter-in-law, Kim Shank, of Sarasota, FL; one sister, Hilda (Al) Kurtz, of Sarasota, FL; one brother, Eldo (Betty) Sutter, of Cottonwood, AZ. She was also preceded in death by one son, Marlin Shank; and three brothers, Ivis, Mervin and Omar Sutter. Services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Science Ridge Mennonite Church in Sterling with Pastor Arnold Owens, officiating. Burial will be at the Science Ridge Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM, Friday, March 23, 2012 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling and from 10-11 AM Saturday, prior to services at the church.
