Obituary of Alvena Martin

Alvena B. Martin, 94 of Sterling, died Friday Oct 23, 2015, at Regency Care Nursing Home. Alvena was born February 24, 1921, in Chadwick, IL, she was the daughter of Henry and Olive (Perkey) Holy. She married Chester Martin on June 28, 1941. He proceeded her in death on February 5, 2015. Survivors include her son, Gary (Judi) Martin, of Sterling: one granddaughter Angela (Dave) Jackley, Sterling; two great-grandsons, Brandon and Logan; one great-granddaughter Madison and one great-great grandson, Wyatt. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Holy, parents Henry and Olive (Perkey) Holy. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday October 27, at Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with Reverend Mike Winkelman, officiating. Burial is at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling.
