Our deepest sympathies. Gene had such a presence in our lives and in our Christian walk. He was a prayer warrior. When you needed prayer you could count on Gene to go before the throne for you. Of course he will be remember for his knowing everyone's name! He would know your name and make you feel like you were the most important person who walked through the doors of the First Church of the Nazarene! He loved people but most important he turned his life over to Jesus, that is why we can help but smile knowing he choose Jesus and now gets to spend eternity in his presence. Praise God!

We have such special memories of Gene. He and Brenda have been dear friends of ours for years. Leora's father presided at Gene and Brenda's wedding. That was a neat event where Gene wore his tux and a black top hat. Yes, he looked just like Abe Lincoln!
We last saw Gene and Brenda in California when we visited a year ago. It was a great time to reconnect. We are glad we stopped in our travels to see them.
Thank God that Gene is no longer struggling with his earthly body. He is totally healed and enjoying heaven. Somehow we can picture him greeting others who come daily and showing them their place in paradise. He was the ultimate usher and greeter.
Our prayers for Brenda and the family. May God wrap His arms of comfort around you and give you strength in these coming days and months as you grieve.
Our love - Jim and Leora

Brenda, I am lost for words. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. I am grateful to have known Gene, and worked with him in some of his ministries, including Parkway Center and Sterling
Care. He was, indeed, a prayer warrior. May God comfort you in this difficult time.
