I moved away from Sterling 8 years ago and just saw that Wayne past away last year. I knew Wayne and Betty from the time I was 17 years old and worked for her at Mode-O-Day and she and Wayne were a loving second set of parents to me. He always was so much fun to be around and even though people may not stay close over the years doesn't mean people forget them or the permanent marks they make in our lives. To Waynes family I'm sorry for your loss, Betty I hope you are doing well and you are missed and loved. Love, Charley

I moved away from Sterling about 8 years ago and just tonight saw where Wayne had passed last year. It saddens me to see this....I worked for Betty for a few years when she owned Mode-O-Day downtown and in the mall. When i met Wayne for whatever reason he looked like a "Horatio" to me (I was 17 then) and thats what I always called him....and I think he liked it. Him and Betty were a second set of parents to me and I loved them very very much. I can only hope that someone in the family sees this and knows that even though Horatio passed away last year someone is grieving his loss this very evening and I hope and pray Betty gets the message that they left a permanent mark in my life and heart and I pray Betty is doing well. Dad, how I loved spending time with you in Vegas. When you would call me Old Man I felt a close bond between a father and a son. Morning after Morning I dragged my tired butt out of bed to walk 5 laps with you(I miss those morning walks). There are great memories from our time in Vegas. 1 of the best was Aviation Nation at Nelis AF Base. You showed me the planes you worked and we watched the Thunderbirds. Wayne and I worked together for several years at Norhern Illinois Water Corporation in Sterling. A man of great character, knowledge, and love for the people that could call him a friend. I have so many fond memories of Uncle Wayne. He was the greatest!! Always had a smile for you no matter what. And how many guys would take his girlfiends little niece along with them on a date. And after they were married I always had my bag packed and ready to go home with them at a moments notice. Great memories! He was a wonder ful guy and heaven is rejoicing to have him there. Grandpa,
