I remember helping Jay with his stripping business (Tru-Line). We started stripping around 4 pm and didn't finish until around 3 am one time. We were painting the parking lot for Wahl Clippers. When it got dark out we pulled out our cell phones and were using them as flashlights so we could see where our marks were to paint. We probably look goofy out there trying to see, but in the morning when the sun came up, the parking lot looked great as Jay always did excellent work.

To Pat, Jerry, Sherri, Noah, and Zion, When we first moved to Sterling, across the street from Bellini's - Jay was the first friend our two boys met. For that we are thankful. That summer, we took the 3 boys to the Bears's training camp. Jay said not to worry, he knew how to get us there...and he did! Jay became a God fearing young man. Years ago, when I would see Jay often, we would always talk about cars, bikes & trucks. I'll never forget how we both kept telling each other about a certain truck that we wanted to buy. We would go back and forth describing and bantering on who's truck was better. One day weeks later we were hanging out and decided to show each other the truck that we wanted to buy to see who's was actually better.....in the end, we took each other to the same truck!! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Jay was the first friend I met in Sterling when we moved across the street from his family over twenty years ago. Back then we had a lot of good times that I'll always remember. More recently, I talked with Jay at his son's football game and it was clear that he was very happy, very proud of his boys, and a great dad.

To the Bellini Family, I have had the pleasure in the last 11 years to have the oppurtunity to work side by side Jay for many hours out of the day when he worked for the Northwest Construction. Northwest does alot of work with IDOT so I have gotten the chance to work with him alot. I can say this he really cared for his family. He was always sharing a story of Noah of what he was currently up too. Whether it was Baseball, Wrestling, or Football. Noah and my nephew Austin Sandrock are best friends and would always see them together. Jay was well liked by many people and I am glad I got the chance to know him. Thank you for sharing him with us -- he was a good provider for his family and had good intentions for doing a quality job. Noah please don't forget how much your Dad loves you!! I remember Jay from high-school,but didn't really get to know him till i started working 4 PADS and discovered Jay had been a volunteer there for years. Coming in faithfully to volunteer his time to help others despite his hectic work schedule. Jay would even come in on nights he wasn't scheduled just to help out when needed. You we"re great man my brother and will be deeply missed by family ,friends , and this community for years to come.

Jay and I never called each other to hang out, we would just cross paths, but I always considered him a friend. If we were ever near each other, I would seek him out to talk to him, to spend time with him. He was a person that knew how to make someone else feel good. He always knew how to have fun with me and I suspect he could make any person, any person, he ever met at ease.
So sad. Sorry I hadn't caught up with in 15 long years, bud.
