Dear Russell, Tim, Paul, Robin, Susan, Jennifer, Linda, Carolyn, and family,
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy for your loss. Virginia was a great lady, a model of warmth and genuine grace. Nancy and I had the privilege of having her touch our lives from 1984-1986 in Freeport, Illinois when I worked with Russell as his associate pastor at Faith United Methodist Church. She made Russell a better man! I am a better person and pastor because our paths crossed. She participated in a mission trip to Henderson Settlement in Kentucky with a group from the church that I organized. Her warmth and compassion was a blessing to the families we were able to help on that trip.
I pray for you all that you give yourselves permission to grieve. May you be blessed to share cherished memories and be assisted by competent end of life professionals who can care for details so you don't have to. May your friends know how to listen. May you find ways to make important family decisions in harmony. In honor of your Mom commit to cherishing the life and the family that she cared for so deeply. May you find comfort in the faith that death is not life's last word. Heaven is already better because Virginia is there! We are all better people because Virginia was here!
Know that you all are being lifted in prayer today. May you recognize Jesus with you on the mourner's bench.
In Christian Love,
Rev. Dr. Glenn and Nancy Wagner
