My sympathies go out to Gary's family and Doug's family and I'm sorry I can't be there on Friday. Great Aunt Lila meant so much to me and I celebrate the fact that she is up in heaven now waiting for the rest of us and getting re-acquainted with Glenn, Rita, Mabel, Menno, Grandpa Good and Grandma Good, and so many others that loved her. Truly, some of my fondest memories are from the Thanksgiving days we had at the Sterling farm, eating like pigs, singing at the piano, watching football, wrestling with Doug, laughing, hunting with Grandpa Springer, joking about everything, going around the table telling everyone what we were thankful for that year, occasionally crying, arguing with my brothers, and then eating again. Throughout all of it, was the always present kindness and love of Aunt Lila. And she wasn't a bad cook, either! Wow, what great food. Although I didn't know her sister that well, my grandma, due to her early death, I always thought of Aunt Lila as her replacement. She loved us boys and was so happy to see us when we would visit. I will never forget Jana and I got to see her and Gary on her 100th birthday and we went to Applebee's. I tried to get the waitress to card her so she could see that she truly was 100 on that day. Aunt Lila laughed but wouldn't even have a drink on her big day! I love her and your entire family and wish to see you all soon. May you have peace in knowing that she is happy and in a great place now. 105, almost 106! Amazing. With Love, Brent Martin
