Obituary of Estela G. Escamilla

ESTELA G. ESCAMILLA

STERLING-Estela G. Escamilla, 88 of Sterling, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at CGH Medical Center.

    Estela was born February 15, 1929 in San Benito, TX,  the daughter of Richard and Josephine (Avila) Garza. She married Bernabe Escamilla on May 29, 1948 in San Benito, TX. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1993.

    Survivors include three daughters, Yolanda (Gary) Clayes of Morrison, Mary (Ron) Pannebaker of Dallas, TX and Lydia Escamilla of Sterling; two sons, Benny (Mary) Escamilla of Sterling and Bernie and (Ellen) Escamilla of Chillicothe; two brothers, Richard (Margaret) Garza and Herman Garza, both of San Antonio; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-three great grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild.

    She was preceded in death by one son, Ray Escamilla; one granddaughter and two grandsons.

    Mass of the Christian Burial will held be at 11 AM Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St Mary Catholic Church, Sterling, with Reverend Adalberto Sanchez, officiating. Rosary will be recited at 9:30 and Visitation to follow until  10:45 AM Saturday, at the Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation, Sterling. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling.

    A memorial has been established.
