Obituary of James Finn

JAMES EDWARD FINN, JR. STERLING - James Edward Finn, Jr., 69, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at his home. He served in the U.S. Army, and was employed by Northwestern Steel & Wire for 30 years. James was born March 1, 1943 in Sterling, the son of James Edward Sr. and Margaret (Meek) Finn. He married Paulette Fikter on September 30, 1967 in Sterling. James was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling. Survivors include his wife, Paulette; two sons, Sean (Candy) Finn of Sterling, and James Finn III, of Rock Falls; one sister, Linda (David Sr.) Campbell of Nelson; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Atherton and Rebecca Craig. Services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Schilling Funeral Home with Monsignor Dzielek of St. Andrew Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Sterling with military rites. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Funeral Home. A memorial has been established.
