I suppose I met Dave when I moved from the East Coloma School District to Thome School for 3rd grade. I know I had known him a year later when our family moved to the house on the corner of E. 11th St. and Ave C, Rock Falls. Dave lived across the street and a couple of houses down. We spent a lot of time together in the neighborhood. Later on, after I left Rock Falls for college and then to joined the Coast Guard, I returned many times to Rock Falls with my wife at the time (who was also a native of Rock Falls). As couples we celebrated life together, the way young people do. I have nothing but fond memories of Dave.
