I was privileged to be Benny's pastor at Wesley Church for five years. And during that time, I had a Mercury Tracer, which meant I saw him at church every Sunday but at the repair shop from time to time. He was a Master Mechanic whose diagnostic skills helped me long distance long after I moved from the area. Benny's passion and God-given talents for seeing something that needed to be done - and then doing it both efficiently and inexpensively, blessed his church in countless ways through the years. I can still hear him saying, "Say, I've noticed that such and such is broken..." And he'd take care of it. Benny and I shared several things in common: we both had mustaches & could be long-winded on occasion. I thank God for Benny's life and unique ministry of being able to fix things. I'm sorry that I'm unable to attend his service and express my sympathy and love to his dear loved ones in person. It is my hope and prayer that the Lord will comfort and sustain you all as you entrust Benny unto the Lord's care and safekeeping.
