Obituary of Doris Abbott

DORIS M. ABBOTT STERLING - Doris M. Abbott, 90, died Monday, February 25, 2013 at Coventry Living Center. Doris was born May 20, 1922 in Sterling, the daughter of Horace and Anna (Koch) Brittian. She married James F. Abbott on June 21, 1941 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1993. Doris was a member of Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling. Survivors include one daughter, Carol (Greg) Kontos of Windham, ME; one son, Thomas J. Abbott of Chicago; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church with Reverend Patrick Pinion, officiating. Private burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Sterling. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:15 PM, Tuesday prior to services at the Church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church.
