Obituary of Charlotte Karr

STERLING- Charlotte L. Karr, 87, went to Heaven to join her beloved soul mate and husband, Floyd "Johnny" Karr, on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 5:09am. John and Charlotte were married 60 years.
Charlotte was born at the Amboy Hospital, December 20, 1926 to Warner and Catherine (Kesselring) Schier. She graduated Franklin Grove High School and attended Poythress Secretarial School and worked as a secretary for Green River Ordinance during World War II. Charlotte was also a nurse's aide at Amboy Public Hospital for many years. She enjoyed horses and had a special way with animals, especially dogs. Charlotte enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and canning. One of Charlotte's favorite sayings was "Nothing is so bad for one, than too much of any one thing." Charlotte will be greatly missed by all.
Mrs. Karr is survived by one sister, Norma (Philip) Atkins, of Rock Falls; two daughters, Patricia (Steve) Person of Dixon, Sandy (Gerry) Lindsey, of Batesville, AR; one son, John W. Karr, of Sterling; eight grandchildren, Angela (Blake) Leonard, Colleen (Kenny) Guenzel, Judy Lindsey, Steve (Annette) Lindsey, David (Charlotte) Lindsey, Lisa Lindsey, David (Kim) Lindsey, Judy Ann Lindsey, of Arkansas, Bobby (Sam) Lindsey, of Seattle, WA, Kimberley Person (Seth Neeble), of Peoria; twelve great grandchildren, Brooke and Braden Leonard, Kayden, Carsen & Kenton Guenzel, Candace (David) McKinney, Claudia, Janette, & Luke (Annie) Lindsey, Mattie, Lacey, & Zoey Neeble; six great-great grandchildren, Avalyn, Preston, Gavin, and Lennox Lindsey, Isac and Darrick McKinney; nieces, Cathy (Tom) Ebalo, of the Quad Cities, Nancy (Sam) Freesmeyer, and sons, Nash and Aaron of Norcross, GA, Kathy (Arlyn-deceased nephew) Schier and family: Kim, Kayli and Eric, of Dixon; nephews, Robert (Jeannine) Scheffler and family: Hayli, Brady, Heidi and Bryce. Cathy (Darwin- deceased nephew) Schier and family: Amanda, and Travis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Johnny Karr, her parents, Warner and Catherine Schier, brother, Gerald (Esther) Schier; daughter-in-law Ruth Karr; and nephews, Arlyn, and Darwin Schier.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11am at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with Reverend Dalmus Meeks, officiating.Visitation will be held prior to the funeral at 10am. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery in Dixon.
