He was a wonderful man and teacher. He reinforced so many values in my life and piano training like hard work and diligence. He always believed in me. Thank you, Mr.Ricker. Till we meet again in heaven.

I wish to send my heart felt condolences to the family of Mr. Ricker. He was my piano teach from the time I was in first grade until I graduated from Sterling High School. He taught me not only how to play the piano but he also taught me to have a real appreciation for music. I have many fond memories of my years of studying under his direction. He will truly be missed.

What a loss. Mr Ricker was a neighbor to my grandparents, a teacher to six of the Williams children, and a friend to all who knew him. His life lessons go so much further than the piano lessons my parents worked so hard to pay for. You will be missed. Much love, Antonette Williams

I studied piano with Mr. Ricker from second grade till I graduated from high school and can say with all sincerity that, other than my parents and grandparents, he had the greatest impact on my life. Thanks to him, I've taught piano for over 30 years and have been active in my church and community as a pianist. I truly can't imagine my life without music or his influence. Mr. and Mrs. Ricker were very generous in other ways. At one point, my three sisters and I were all in lessons at the same time and it was quite an expense for my parents. Mrs. Ricker allowed me to clean their house (which was never dirty!) to earn my piano lessons the last two years of high school. I know they're rejoicing together to be reunited in Heaven. God bless his memory!

Earl Ricker was a wonderful, accomplished person. A graduate of Oberlin College, he was a prolific composer and author (Festival of the Clouds, Two Through the Forest, etc.) He was a good Christian and always put the needs of others before his own. Mr. Ricker was one of the most influential people in my life. Never a day goes by when I don't think about something he said to me in lessons! He was one of the best teachers around the country, not only in Sterling. Because of his leadership, my piano skills increased more than ever before. He was one of the main reasons I chose to be in music. Later on as an adult, it was a privilege to get to know him personally. He was a Godly man and a real encouragement. We prayed together several times, what a blessing. I will miss him greatly. Mr. Ricker, thank you for all you did. I know you are in a better place. John 14:1-4 You are in one of the rooms God has prepared for you now. Blessings, Diana Haskell
