Obituary of Earl Ricker

EARL D. RICKER STERLING- Earl D. Ricker, 84, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at VA Central Iowa Health Care Center, Des Moines, IA. He was a well known piano teacher in the area for sixty years. Earl was born March 23, 1926 in Sterling, the son of Samuel and Catherine (Spiedel) Ricker. He served in the United States Army. He married Janet Ellmaker on August 8, 1958 in Sterling at Broadway Methodist Church, Sterling. She preceded him in death on November 23, 1996. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sterling. Survivors include a special friend, Shirley Burger of Sterling; one cousin, Glenn A. Schutt II of Sterling and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Vera Huber. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, March 29, 2010 at Trinity United Methodist Church, Sterling with the Reverend Mark Curtis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9-10:30 AM Monday at the church, prior to services. A memorial has been established to Trinity United Methodist Church.
