A "good" man, a "man's" man, a "giving" man, a "kind" man, a "gentle" man, a "loving" man, and a "family" man....All of these men were George William Wooldridge. God truly blessed hose that were fortunate enough to know George. He was the type of person that would give another the shirt off of his back it it was needed, and many were recipients of his kindness and "tender-heartedness" during their difficult times. It was impossible to be around George and feel sad. His magnetic personality just made others feel good to be alive and in his presence. He did not lack for friends. Always a ready smile, a story to share, and a wonderful hearty laugh that we will always remember.

My deepest sympathy goes to George's family. I met George while walking with my friend and her dogs at Lowell Park. It was always a pleasure to visit with George. What a wise and wonderful man. I totally enjoyed his humor. He will be missed but fondly remembered by his Park friends.

I am so saddened to read of the loss of George. I met him some years ago at Lowell Park in Dixon where he was enjoying his afternoon walk. I was walking my little dogs and stopped to chat with him. From that day I always looked forward to seeing him. A very kind and considerate man. I will miss our visits very much. I am grateful to have known him. My sincerest condolences to his family. Alana

When I think of my brother several words come to mind...quite a character, one of a kind, story teller, fun loving, laughs a lot, generous to a fault, loves kids but also very impatient and shall we say even stubborn??? I will miss his stories (even though I know them by heart) his laugh, his phone calls and just knowing he was there for me. The very best thing George ever did was to marry Bea. She is a saint! We know that George could be difficult at times and she has the patience of Job to deal with him. Bea is very dear to all of us. I have always looked up to my big brother, even though I had to straighten him out at times.... I am sure our sister, Mildred, is trying to get him in line in heaven and Dad probably has his switch ready because George needed a spanking every day when he was growing up. I love you, Bea, and you know I loved my brother very much.

My Dad was Willard Nelson and he & George were good friends. Dad had a juke box in his basement for many years that he had gotten from George. My friends & I enjoyed that immensely. My prayers to the Wooldridge family at this difficult time.
