Obituary of George Wooldridge Wooldridge

GEORGE W. WOOLDRIDGE DIXON- George W. Wooldridge, 92, died Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at CGH Medical Center. Prior to retirement, he owned Blackhawk Music Company, Sterling, until selling the business in 1983. George was born April 10, 1918 in Centralia the son of Grover and Effie (Miller) Wooldridge. He served in the United States Army. He married Beatrice Lott on August 1, 1973 in Lyndon. Survivors include his wife Beatrice, one daughter, Jill (Alvin) Berodt of Davenport, IA; two sisters, Shirley Wooldridge of Fullerton, CA and Lois Rowland of PA; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling, with the Reverend Mark Oehlert, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 10-11AM Saturday, prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by a son, James Diffenbaugh, two sisters, Mildred Prowant and Gladys Wright and a brother Merle Wooldridge. A memorial has been established.
