I am going to miss my favorite Aunt. She always made me feel extra special. Whenever I would fly in to visit Chicago, she would drive the three hours to come visit with me. Even if only for a few hours. I felt so loved and special. I loved our long talks on the phone and how she would call me to check on me after my parents died. She was one of my best friends. I called her a few months ago, crying and upset, she had a voice of reason and guided me.
The first Thanksgiving after my mom called was special to me because of My Aunt Jane'e thoughtfulness. Typically I talked to my mom every Thanksgiving on the phone if I wasn't with her.while I made her homemade stuffing, so I knew I was doing it right. The early morning of the first Thanksgiving without either of my parents, Aunt Jane called right as I was chopping celery. What touched me and made me cry is that she is not a morning person, she was a night owl like me! She called me at like 7:30 her time. It was so touching and I will never forget it. I love her. She knew how to make everyone feel special and important. I knew she loved me, and she made a lasting difference in my life. We did a lot of family history together and tried to figure out where those Cothren's and Plumley's all came from. ONe thing I will miss is getting to travel to Arkansas to see all the family sites with her. She and I talked about it, but never got to do it. I will miss her laugh and those gorgeous blue eyes and her smile. I know she is not suffering and she will continue to watch over us. I LOVE YOU AUNT JANE.

Once again I apologize for formatting; I tried everything I could think of...
YOUR SMILE LINGERS:
You live in each of us,
Your strength with us remains.
You left your courage and your heart,
With all that breathe your name.
Although we grieve your leaving,
Although with tears we mourn,
You left this world a better place -
Your smile lingers on.

I'm afraid the following poem does not have the proper carriage returns due to the text restrictions on this page; forgive me for the format, but i still would like to post it:
LOSS OF MOTHER:
God saw she was getting tired,
And cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around her,
And whispered come with me.
With tearful eyes,
We watched her suffer,
And saw her fade away.
Although we loved her dearly,
We couldn't make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating.
Hard working hands to rest.
He broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

David and I wish to express our sadness at Jane's passing. We all grieve her loss, especially Jim, Ruthanne and Trenton. We have always known Jim has always been very close to his mother, and he will miss her deeply. Ruthanne has always told us that she and Jane were close as well, and of course Trenton has lost his beloved grandmother. We have lost a friend as well. Jane always wrote such nice long letters and we were always glad to hear from her. She was a special lady. Love, Pat and Dave Cohn.
