Please accept my sincere sympathy in the death of your mother. Gloria and I were friends from kindergarten through all her life. We spent many hours together in high school and had many laughs. There are so many songs from those days that always remind me of her when I hear them. Gloria and I were roommates in college when I spent a short semester at NIU. She was always one of the most positive persons I ever knew. Her glass was ALWAYS half full. I could go on and on. I didn't see that much of her, but we always kept in touch. I know how happy she and Jim were, and Jim told me how much he cared for your mother. It was wonderful to know how happy she was with him. Gloria had a nickname for me. She used to call me RumDum. I have no idea where it came from, but it was endearing to me. I regret that I didn't take more time to spend with her, but I always thought she would be with us for a long time. She had such a good attitude. I'm sorry I couldn't be at her service, but we left for Florida the Monday after Christmas and was unable to attend. You had a wonderful and very caring mother, and I will miss her.

Gloria was at the table checking us in at the 50th reunion. It was sure nice to see her. I know the evening meant alot to her to see so many of her H.S. classmates. Gloria was always upbeat in our H.S. years with a swirl of her pretty blonde head which was always accompanied by a laugh and a smile! She was in the girls chorus with me for 4 years and added alot to the group. Also, I knew her with her involvement with the Camera Club. May many pleasant memories of her help ease the family's sorrow at this time. She was a wonderful person to have known. Sincerely, Janet and Dave Grummitt, CA.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of your Mother, Gloria. At our 50th Class reunion (Class of 1959), I talked with Gloria and we took the tour of Dixon High School as well as the tour of the Historical Center in the old South Side Grade School. I had sent her a picture taken at the 50th Reunion and hope that she received it. Also, years ago, I had talked with her and her husband, Jim, at one of the reunions which was held at Lowell Park. I am glad that she found happiness in her second marriage and was able to travel in her later years for her enjoyment and to see her family. In my mind, Gloria always had that cheerful smile on her face and was pleasant to all. She will be missed by her high school classmates.

I met Gloria at Dixon High School and we became friends. I worked with her Mom at Montgomery Wards at that time, too. Gloria's smile was contagious and she was such a great life coach or "cheerleader!" It was always great to communicate with her at DHS class reunions, and I appreciated the time and ideas she gave to make them happen. We will miss her. I did get a note to her a few weeks ago and know she knew I was thinking of her and sending love and peace in this transition. Peace and hope to Gloria's family and friends, I know you will miss her presence. I love the photo selectedd of her. I'll never forget that smile.

I am sorry for your loss of your mom and sister. Gloria and I spent many hours playing together as young children. We most recently reconnected at the luncheons the class of 59 had in Dixon. Gloria is the only person I know that could make lemon-aid out of the life of lemons she was given. I know she fought the fight and now may she rest......she truly deserves it. My deepest sympathies to Tina and family in the loss of your mother. She lived next door to my grandfather for years and only in the last couple of years did I realize she was Tina's mom. A lovely woman who always looked out for my grandpa. I know this is an especially hard time of year to lose someone but because of the blessings your mom brought all of us who knew her we are not surprised that she was called home during such a holy time. May you all find peace and comfort in knowing what a special lady your mom was to all of us who knew her.

Remembering all the times spent visiting at sporting events, church events, or just sitting at the lake talking about everything under the sun. We know that this is a very difficult time for you and hope you can feel our prayers from afar.

I will greatly miss the opportunities to share in the wit and wisdom of Gloria - I always enjoyed my visits with her. I remember staying up late chatting during a trip to Door County several years back - we just never ran out of topics for conversation. She always enjoyed life and made me appreciate it too. My sympathy goes out to Cathy, Tina, Karl, Jake and Peter - I know you will feel her absence tremendously.
