My thoughts are withe Lyle and his children and grandchildren. I know the pain of loss and this is a difficult time. I am grateful for Bernice's friendship, both professionally and personally, for so many years. I miss her very much. I know that the pain of her loss will always be there but I hope it will ease with time.

Lyle It seems that memories of people I consider friends are only recalled when reading of a death in their family. Maybe this is what age does to us. I know Dean would want me to add his condolences to that of mine. The 7th and 8th Avenue community brings back a ton of fond memories. Duane (Butch)

Bernice was a good friend of my mother, Ellen Bystry, for more than 50 years. I have fond childhood memories of going to the beauty shop with my mom on Saturdays and "helping" out by cleaning brushes and combs or folding towels. It was a treat to get a Freska or Tab from the pop cooler for a quarter. After the close of Hair Design I, I was glad to know that the ladies got together for lunch and to play "beauty shop" and do each other's hair. She will be missed by many.

Mr. Z, Lyle, Larry, and Teri, I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. Z's passing! I hope you all know how much I thought of her. She was like a second mother to me in high school and college, since I spent so much time at your house! She was a very loving and wonderful person. I know you all will miss her greatly! I know she is no longer suffering and I pray that you will dwell on that thought as you go through these next few days and weeks. I will continue to pray for you all. Love to the entire family! My Aunt Bernice was a very special lady. Married to my mom's youngest brother, my Uncle Lyle, they were quite a formidable team. In my lifetime, you never thought of one without the other - it was always Lyle and Bernice, not just Lyle, and not just Bernice; to imagine one without the other is unthinkable. I loved her dearly and I imagine her reunited with my mom in heaven, and the conversation they must be having! To Uncle Lyle, Lyle Dean, Larry and Teri, my heart is breaking for you. I have been there and I know how hard it is. We love you all so much and since we are going to be in Illinois next week, we will be there for the services. Keeping you close in my prayers and my heart. Be seeing you soon! Becky (Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm!)
